@07:17Oh my gosh... This is beautiful... Honestly, it almost made me cry. Poor Clark... Man. This is so powerful. ;_;

I'm glad that you choose not to use voices. I really like the whole animated-comic-book idea. I feel like letting the reader imagine the voices was a good choice for this round, which all the emotional wrenching-around. XD I loved it.

Also, those fighting scenes are fantastic, and so dynamic! It's really nice to see that it's a bit more completed than your audition was, too. This really showcases your animation abilities.

I wish you the best of luck on getting into the next round. You've got another fan. :3

I'm not exactly sure what to call this Monstrosity. Animation? Animatic? Motion Comic? Possum?

Anyway. Here it is. I've experimented with not having character voices in this one, which is an attempt to retain the small amount of effort that the audience invests into the work by reading it, and thus creating a more meaningful connection with the work.

Excellent work for many reasons already mentioned, but what especially appealed to me was the form, the hybrid of animation and comic. (I'm a format geek. :P) It means more work on the part of the viewer, but also more engagement - at least for me.

Your animation in general is good, but I hope you explore this form more and use it to its full potential.

@07:23Not bad, it's much better without voices!

Some nitpicks:

I think your opponent seemed a bit out of character in terms of how he acted, but that's a fairly minor thing.

The dialog seemed a bit too obvious and overstated to me sometimes, so I didn't exactly cry like everyone else here--I think you could have shown some things rather then told them, since I got extremely confused when 801 started talking about Clark and his mother.

The bubbles are working out, but please put tails on them. It's kind of confusing sometimes when two people are talking at once. Sometimes the bubbles are too small to be seen as well, although that's probably because I'm viewing this on DA's tiny-ass window.

Your sets are well done, and the action scenes are really well done. There's some wonky bits--like when 801 is walking in the opening bit, she's doing a highly exaggerated catwalk that looks a bit out of character for her, and when your opponent is running forward in the fight sequence, his knees look a bit odd as well.

Still, this was nicely done, congrats on getting it finished!

@07:23That was very touching, and the music really helped set the moods. The story flowed very well, and the ending gave us a subtle glimpse into 807's mind. Great job! :clap:

The one thing I have to say about this first off, is that I love the deeper meaning. Often with a lot of OCT entries I tend to see some form of meaning, but not really any provoking serious thought, I feel you managed to include that thought provoking meaning into this perfectly!

Another thing I'd like to mention is your storytelling and dialogue, the pacing doesn't seem rushed, nor does it drag on, and the dialogue is believable, as well as that,none of it seems forced, which worked greatly as a whole!

One thing I think you could work on, however is the progression towards the end of the fight. Whereas the protagonist being backed out into a corner tends to give the fight tension, it sometimes can seem a bit cheap to have the main character suddenly beat their opponent out of nowhere. 807 for most of the fight was battered around and didn't get a hit on Dallas until the end of the fight, when 807 had her concrete destroying hand around Dallas' neck. It's probably just personal preference but I find that fights with both opponents taking hit for hit gives the battle a lot more tension, so I'd just say try perhaps taking that into consideration next time.

Other than that I love this entry and I think you did a great job on the whole! Keep up the good work for your next couple of rounds if you make it!

@07:23I-..

I'm... actually.. tearing up a little, Dubby. To be honest, I don't.. Really know what to say. You really stuffed the emotion in, and I love how you wrapped it all up. Keep working on your animations, even if they are the partial ones like this. Try to avoid the distortions that I saw for some of the running scenes. The extra time it'll take to draw that one frame when he's turning can make a real difference.

Great job, as always. Let's hope you make it to round two!

@07:23We'll call it possum just for the fun of it. Mind you it's a very good possum, probably the best damn possum i've seen in a while. All i can say other than 'wow' is that it's a pity there's no voices in this one. Best of luck to you sir
